Director of Strategic Initiatives

The Owens Group International, a dynamic family of companies providing innovative solutions to the travel, transportation and hospitality industries, is seeking a highly capable Director of Strategic Initiatives to join our growing team in Atlanta.

SUMMARY
The successful candidate will possess the ability to provide strategic, executive-level support to the CEO inclusive of:

Strategic Initiatives:

  • Lead complex special projects critical to the business that will span business units and include external advisors and consultants.
  • Research areas and topics of strategic importance to the business and lead initiatives including building strategic partnerships.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to gather information and critical details related to project content.
  • Conduct financial, market and organizational research to assist in defining and executing functional goals and opportunities.
  • Prepare, present and interpret data to compose and deliver high-level reports.
  • Gather, coordinate and influence resources to move projects forward.

Managing the Office of the CEO and Its Relationships

  • Leverage relationships across the organization to influence, negotiate and deliver business results.
  • Support the CEO’s work with the advisory board, leadership meetings and strategic planning efforts across the organization.
  • Serve as a resource for the Leadership Team and the organization as appropriate.
  • Drive scheduling, agenda management and preparation for all key executive and advisory board meetings.
  • Manage confidentiality without exception.

Presentations & Communication Content

  • Manage the CEO’s communications with a variety of constituents
  • Compose/edit correspondence, official statements and speeches.
  • Develop talking points and PowerPoint presentations for delivery to internal and external groups.

  • Self-starter who thrives in situations with ambiguity and possesses the drive to build clarity. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills inclusive of the ability to influence and build trust with diverse team members. 
  • The ability to distill information into concise communication materials, ability to tailor language and use multiple communication mediums to distribute information.
  • Exceptional written, presentation, and verbal communications skills that can applied across organizational levels.
  • Effective project management skills and extraordinary drive for results.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • MBA from a leading program
  • 6-8 years of business management and/or organizational development experience
  • Proven track record of developing effective partnerships across disparate groups and influencing senior leaders.
  • Corporate strategy, management consulting, investment banking or private equity background strongly preferred
  • Software as Service (SaaS) experience a plus.
